  1. Nice to meet you Shil. Thank you for following my blog. I am just now going to check yours out. I like the Thomas Keller quote you posted. I have many times noticed that the same recipe made by different cooks does not come out the same. Each soul is unique, so each dish comes out unique. This quote made me understand why I feel like I am keeping my mom, my nanni and my par nanni (great grand mohter) alive when I cook what they taught me. I always feel like there are with me. Our souls remain connected through cooking. I started my blog to keep their memory alive after my mom passed away. Thanks for posting the quote. I had not seen it before. πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ’•

    1. Hi Kamini, so glad to hear from you. I always feel recipe is more about the cook than the cooking itself. There was this movie I saw, long time back “The Ramen Girl” that made me understand this so much. It’s about the cook not the recipe. No matter how much we try, put exactly the same ingredients like our mothers used to do, can’t manage to get the same taste like they did. So happy to read about you & your blog.   2. Hi Shil, Thanks for reading my post. I cooked for 47 years for four men (three sons ;one a vegetarian, and husband) and then ran a small hotel in UK with hubby. Now retired in Spain, I write and he cooks! Your life sounds intriguing…We still love food . Just smaller quantities now we’re older. My husband still likes to experiment with sauces, etc now and then. Enjoy your travels and your nosh! Cheers.
